This is totally my well-educated and perfectly acceptable opinion at work here: space is boring.
Yeah, it’s pretty to look at and only via space can I tell which day of the week to buy a lottery ticket, but there’s not much to do up there. And if you did one day manage to get up there, what are you going to do? Float around? Implode? Both of those suggestions would seem to get old fast.
One thing that could make space much more interesting is rocket launchers. You could play the most realistic version of Asteroids ever. Sure, you’d have to wait 3-100 years between games, but that’s the price you pay for realism in video games.
I’d also love to fire a rocket launcher at the sun one day, just to see what would happen.
